Refunds

This Refund Policy outlines how refunds, cancellations, credits, and transfers are handled by Canine Education Academy (“we”, “us”, “our”).

It applies to all online courses, digital products, monthly memberships, workshops, events, venue hire, and services purchased through our website or booking systems.

  1. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

You are entitled to a refund, replacement, or remedy if a product or service:

  • Has a major fault
  • Is not as described
  • Is unfit for its intended purpose
  • Fails to meet consumer guarantees under the ACL
  • Where required by law, we will provide an appropriate remedy.
  1. Online Courses & Digital Products (LearnDash)

2.1 Change of Mind

Due to the digital nature of online courses and digital products, refunds are not provided for change of mind once access has been granted.

This includes:

  • Online courses
  • Recorded webinars
  • Downloadable materials
  • Digital training resources

2.2 Access Issues

If you experience technical issues accessing content, please contact us so we can assist.

Refunds are not provided for:

  • Temporary platform outages
  • Internet connectivity issues outside our control
  • User error (e.g. forgotten passwords, incompatible devices)

2.3 Consumer Guarantees

If an online course or digital product fails to meet Australian Consumer Law guarantees, you may be entitled to a refund or remedy as required by law.

  1. Memberships (Monthly Billing)

3.1 Monthly Subscription Terms

Memberships are billed monthly in advance unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.

By subscribing, you authorise us to automatically charge the monthly membership fee to your nominated payment method.

3.2 Cancellation

You may cancel your membership at any time.

Upon cancellation:

  • Your membership remains active until the end of the current monthly billing period
  • No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing month

3.3 Change of Mind

Refunds are not provided for:

  • Partially used months
  • Forgotten cancellations
  • Non-use of the membership

3.4 Failed Payments

If a monthly payment fails, access to membership content may be temporarily suspended until payment is successfully processed.

  1. Workshops, Events & In-Person Training

4.1 Cancellations & Administration Fee

Unless otherwise stated on the booking page, workshop and event bookings are not refundable in full.

If you cancel a handling spot or auditing spot after the due date for final payment of the invoice, a booking administration fee will be deducted from any applicable refund or credit.

The booking administration fee covers processing, scheduling, and administrative costs, and will be equivalent to the booking deposit specified in the invoice.

4.2 Substitutions

You may substitute another participant in place of your handling or auditing spot in the specific workshop you are unable to attend.

To be eligible:

  • We must be notified in writing
  • Notification must be received no later than five (5) days before the event begins
  • The substitute participant must meet all event requirements and be approved by Canine Ed
  • Failure to notify us within this timeframe may result in forfeiture of the booking.
  • Substitutions or transfers between different workshops or from group classes to private lessons are not possible.

4.3 Late Cancellations & No-Shows

Cancellations made after the due date for final payment of the invoice will result in the forfeiture of the booking deposit. Failure to attend (no-shows), are not eligible for a refund or credit.

4.4 Event Changes

We reserve the right to:

  • Substitute instructors
  • Adjust schedules
  • Modify event formats

Such changes do not automatically entitle participants to a refund.

4.5 Event Cancellation by Us

If we cancel an event, you will be offered:

  • A full refund, or
  • A credit toward a future event

We are not responsible for travel, accommodation, or other associated costs.

  1. Venue Hire & Facility Use

5.1 Cancellations

Venue hire bookings are non-refundable unless otherwise stated at the time of booking.

At our discretion, we may offer:

  • A credit for future use, or
  • A rescheduled booking

5.2 No-Shows & Entry Requirements

Failure to attend a booking, or refusal of entry due to incomplete booking or waiver requirements, does not entitle you to a refund.

  1. Medical, Dog Welfare & Personal Circumstances

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. However, refunds are not automatically provided for:

  • Injury or illness (human or dog)
  • Behavioural issues arising before or during an event
  • Travel disruptions
  • Weather conditions

Any exceptions are assessed on a case-by-case basis and granted at our sole discretion.
