Meet Kamal Fernandez

Kamal Fernandez is a world-renowned dog trainer, coach, speaker, and author with over 33 years of experience in the dog training world. Kamal has dedicated his career to promoting reinforcement-based training, transforming dogs from unruly pets to Crufts champions. With a training style that combines knowledge, passion, and innovation, he’s competed at the highest levels and represented multiple teams at Crufts.

Currently, Kamal’s dogs include a Belgian Malinois, Border Collies, a German Spitz, a Boxer, and his rescue Jack Russell x Poodle, Sugarpuff. His training journey began in 1991 with Scrunch, an independent Chow-Chow mix, and he quickly learned that a strong, positive approach was key to success!

As an acclaimed speaker, Kamal has presented worldwide, including at the Fenzi Dog Sports Academy’s Lemonade Conference and Victoria Stilwell’s Bite Prevention Conference. He’s appeared on television in “Dogs Behaving Badly,” “The Underdog Show,” and Channel 4’s “The Dog Academy,” and was a trainer for Sky TV’s “Dogs Might Fly,” where he helped 12 rescue dogs learn to “fly a plane.”
