Michele Ellertson and Peta Clarke Chat Including Michele's Aussie Visit This August

We're thrilled to bring you a recap of our recent podcast episode featuring the amazing Michelle Ellertson. Michelle, a pioneer in canine scent work, is coming to New South Wales and Queensland this August for a series of scent work training clinics.

We at Canine Ed are beyond excited to host Michelle. Last night, she had a fantastic chat with the one and only Peta Clarke about scent work, focusing on the topics she will cover during her visit. From building effective training plans to mastering dog-driven searching, Michelle's clinics promise invaluable insights and hands-on training opportunities.

Here's a breakdown of the New South Wales Clinic held at Canine Ed from August 23rd to 26th:

- Friday, August 23rd: Building an effective scent work training plan. This session is perfect for those coaching others in scent work or training on their own.

- Saturday, August 24th: Dog-driven container and vehicle searches. Michelle explained in the podcast why there's a special focus on containers and vehicles. This session dives into the nuances and techniques for optimizing these searches.

- Sunday, August 25th: Games for maintenance in the morning and Hides in Three Planes in the afternoon. These sessions are almost fully booked and are sure to be a hit.

- Monday, August 26th: Leading Vs Dog Driven Searching in the morning and Teamwork/Leash Handling in the afternoon. Michelle will discuss when to step in, when to step back, and how to support your dog best during searches.

During the podcast, Michelle and Peta also touched on the significance of understanding and supporting your dog's communication and behavior during searches. They shared personal anecdotes and professional insights that are sure to inspire and educate both new and experienced scent work enthusiasts.

Michelle's unique approach, including innovative concepts like vertical hides, offers fresh perspectives and techniques that will benefit all participants. Her clinics in Queensland are fully booked, but there's still a chance to join us in New South Wales.
